About Luis Marcano
I have been providing psychotherapy for nearly a decade. I received a master’s degree in Clinical Health Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I am licensed as a Professional Counselor in DC, MD, and VA. I currently work for Arlington County Goverment as a Mental Health Therapist. I have experience in helping individuals who suffer from depression, anxiety, trauma (emotional, physical, or sexual), sexual identity problems, and problems with addictions (substance and/or sexual addictions). I have extensive training and expertise in dual diagnosis, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
As we begin to work together, you will find that one of my priorities is to provide you with a safe and comfortable environment where you will be able to work through whatever difficulties you have. I use a person centered and a strength based approach to empower you as you learn new skills to manage difficult situations, strong emotions, and/or self-harmful behaviors.
